“How-To” Project: Dragster/Hauler

It started with this pic of a dragster and hauler built by Tommy Ivo.

I wanted to build something similar but with my own style. After finding all the donor cars I needed, it was time for some cutting.

Removed the fins from the sides to get the streamline dragster look.

Same for the rocket oil special

Cut the roof off the fish’d and chip’d to slide it back for a longer hood.

Originally I was going to use a Silverado based cab, but wasn’t liking how it was turning out, so after searching the parts bin, I found a few new donor pieces.

I don’t have a pic of it, but both dragsters were cut in half and lengthened with aluminum. Tons and tons of sanding after this.

Added strip styrene to the sides for some added detail.  Also notice the brass added to the inside to support the top level.

Finally primer and paint.
